The Manchester Parks & Recreation Department oversees the maintenance of eight parks, including the Kramer Aquatic Center. The department is responsible for a variety of outdoor amenities such as bikeways, walkways, and trails, which are accessible all year around. The Kramer Aquatic Center is generally open Memorial Day through mid-August. Features of the Aquatic Center include 3 water slides, a diving board, zero-depth entry, spray fountains, a sunbathing area and concessions. Additionally, the Parks & Recreation Department also plans and manages a diverse programs catering to all age groups, from preschool children to active older adults, ensuring that the community has access to engaging and recreational activities throughout the year. STRATEGIC PARK PLAN In 2024 the Parks and Recreation Commission partnered with MSA Professional Services to devise a long term strategic park plan. This document allows the City and the Parks and Recreation Department to take an overhead view of the Parks and Facilities in Manchester. The Park Plan highlights strengths, weaknesses and helps to create a vision of what the parks system may look like in the next 20 years and a road map of how to get there.
