Connie L. Behnken, Mayor
Connie served as an At-Large Councilperson from December 2007 - , Connie was elected Mayor in November 2021. Connie lists two of the greatest accomplishments of the City Council since her involvement as the recent upgrades to the City’s Waste Water Treatment facility and the new addition to the Fire Station.
Family
Connie was raised in Prairie Township, 7 miles southwest of Manchester. She graduated from West Delaware High School in 1982 and from Upper Iowa University in 2003 (Business and Human Resources). Connie has been married to Jon since 1987 and has 2 grown children.
Work History
Connie began her working career as a receptionist/dental assistant in 1987 for Dr. Robert Galiher, DDS. When Dr. Galiher retired, Connie followed the new owners to their current location at Dental Associates of Manchester, PC. Connie has been employed as Office Manager since 2002.
Community Involvement
Connie has served as a dedicated advocate of Manchester residents for many years. She served on the West Delaware County Community School Board from 1996–2002; was a member of the West Delaware Friends of Music Committee from 2000–2006; she has been a West Delaware Volunteer; treasurer for the McGee Brick School Committee; served as a commissioner on the City’s Sidewalk Committee and Planning & Zoning Commission; is a past-treasurer for the Hanson Auditorium Committee; is a current member of the Relay for Life Committee and is a choir member at St. Mary’s Church.
